Israel is always in the news. There is always something going on there. They really need to get their shit together. Right? Why don’t they just, you know, stop fighting? Peace is always better! The Palestinians are poor and the Jews are occupying their land. What are they doing there, anyway? Can’t they just go away? What is their problem? Who do they think they are?

You want to know what our problems are? Start reading. I write Stories of Israel. After October 7, I started writing. I had to deal with the horror somehow. I wrote the stories of the hostages, of the murdered, of the fighters and the ones caught in the middle. I wrote of our history, our pain and trauma. Of our failures and mistakes and of our successes. Of our diversity, our humanity. The good, the bad and the ugly. The terrible true crime of October 7, and the history that led up to it.

Who do we think we are? We are men, women and otherwise. We are old, young and ageless. We are Jews, Muslims, Christians, Buddhists and atheists. We are Middle Eastern, we are white, Black, Asian and everything else. We are straight, we are gay, we are everything under the sun. We are leftwing, rightwing and everything in between. We are humans, trying to live our lives under constant threat and hate. This is who we are, this is our varied history, and these are our true crime stories.
